FBI investigating Gov. McAuliffe, Clinton Foundation for Chinese ties

Chinese donor has also given to Clinton Foundation.

The FBI is investigating Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe on the grounds that he accepted illegal campaign contributions. There is overlap between his donors and donors to the Clinton campaign. Investigators have discovered that a Chinese politician made a particularly large donation to McAuliffe.

LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - The FBI is investigating Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D) and whether or not he knowingly accepted a donation from a forbidden source. According to investigators, Wang Wenliang, a billionaire Chinese politician, made illegal contributions to both McAuliffe and the Clinton Foundation, where McAuliffe used to sit as a board member.

In all, Wenliang may have contributed over $2 million to both Clinton and McAuliffe. So far, only McAuliffe is under investigation.

There are few details about the case and McAuliffe's office says it has not been contacted, but if they are, they will cooperate fully with investigators. A spokesperson has also said that Wenling has permanent U.S. resident status, so his contributions are legal under the law.

Of concern is that our politicians are in the pockets of major, multi-national corporations and foreign governments. If this is true, then our politicians will govern by the pocketbook and not by what is best for the country. Indeed, this is precisely what we are observing today.
